Peek-a-boo String Egg |
This tutorial is my own creation. Any resemblance to another is purely coincidental.
Please read my tutorial Terms. I used Paintshop Pro 7.04, and it should work in other versions. You'll need a knowledge of Paintshop Pro to make this tutorial. Have fun and enjoy :) What you will need for this tutorial: Paintshop Pro HERE My Peek-a-boo string egg tube DOWNLOAD My Decorations Tube including Jasc's Plastic Grass DOWNLOAD Bow Download I use Winzip to zip my files. You can get an evaluation version Here Unzip your Peek-a-boo Stringegg Tube, and My Decorations Tubes into your PSP tubes folder. **For this tutorial we will be using my already made StringEgg. **Note: I'ts important that you name your layers. We'll be working with them when it comes to decorating inside of your egg **Remember to SAVE your work often!! Tool we will be using for reference: Selections Tool Floodfill Tool Mover Tool Magic Want Tool Dropper Tool Picture Tube Tool Open a New Image, 400x400, transparent, 16.7 Color. EGG FRONT 1.Add a New Layer, name it eggfront 2. Using your picture tube tool, go to tool options, and choose stringegg, Size 75 3.Click it into your New transparent image. COLORIZING EGG (0ptional) The stringegg is a neutral color. You can leave it, or change the color by doing one of the following: 1. Go to Color/Colorize and play with the hue and saturation until desired color or: 2. Using your Magic Wand, Click on the string of the egg so the ants march 3 Go to Selections/Modify/Contract by 1 4. Floodfill with a solid color or a gradient DESELECT PEEK-A-BOO HOLE 1. With your eggfront layer activated. 2. Use your Selection Tool, in tool options select Elipse, feather 0, antialias checked. 3. Go to approximately the middle of your egg dragging downwards and sideways until your satisfied with the shape and size.(Remember your Undo Button is your bestest frined :) 4. Hit Delete DO NOT DESELECT **Note: With the ants still marching, we're going to make a frame around the hole. 5. Use the color of your egg (if you don't have that color set as your foreground, use your eyedropper just below your magic want) and Click it on a string, and your color should appear. 6. Selections/Modify/Expand by 3 7. Floodfill your hole with your color 8. Selections/Modify/Contract by 5 9. ********Hit Delete DO NOT DESELECT **With your eggfront layer activated, and the ants marching 10. Add a New Layer, name it Cutout 11. Effects/3Deffects/Cutout and use these settings: Vertical 14 Horizontal 16 Shadow Color Black Opacity 35 Blur 51 Fill interior with color Unchecked DESELECT **Note: Turn off your cutout layer, by clicking on the eyeglasses. We'll be turning it back on at the last step of the tutorial** (the reason for this is to be able to move things around without the cutout going with them) EGG BACK **With your Cutout Layer activated 1. Add a New Layer, name it eggback 2. Drag your eggback layer down below eggfront 3. Using your picture tube tool, go to tool options, choose stringegg Size75 4. Use your Mover Tool, positioning your eggback even with your eggfront. (if you turn your cutout layer back on for a moment this is what your string egg will look like, minus the mover tool lol) ***Make sure your Cutout Layer is turned off again by clicking on the eyeglasses. DECORATING YOUR EGG :) GRASS 1. Add a New Layer, name it grass 2. Drag it down below your eggfront layer. 3. Click on the eggfront layer to activate it 4. Using your Magic Wand, Click on outside of your egg 5. Selections/Invert, only your egg should have marching ants around it. 6. Click back onto your Grass Layer (the marching ants should still be marching, and when you add your grass it won't get outside of the egg.) 7. Using your picture tube tool, go to tool options, choose Plastic Grass, Size 30 8. Go to your egg, and just clicking away until you have the desired amount you want. 9. If you don't like the grass green, Go to Colors/Colorize and play with hue and saturation ( I used Hue 217, Saturation 98) DESELECT BUNNY EGG 1. Keeping your Grass Layer Activated 2. Add a New Layer, name it bunnyegg 3. Using your picture tube tool, go to tool options, Choose bunnyegg Size 70 4. Click into your egg, using the Mover tool to postion it where you want FLOWERS 1 1. Activate your Grass Layer 2. Add a New Layer, name it flowers1 3. Using your picture tube tool, go to tool options, Choose easterlillies Size 85 4. Use your Mover tool to position the flowers as you like. 5. You can keep the flowers the color they are or Go to Colors/Colorization and play with the hue and saturation (I picked Hue 217, Saturation 33). FLOWERS2 1. Activate your Grass Layer again. 2. Add a New Layer, name it flowers2 3. REPEAT the same steps above for flowers1, EXCEPT do Image/Mirror **Your Layers should be in this order. **Turn your Cutout Layer Back ON, by clicking on the eyeglasses Your Peek-a-boo String Egg is finished :) If you make a background, a very light pastel color works the best. FINISHING 1. Click on your background layer to activate it. If you ended up using it. Add a New layer, name it background and drag it to the bottom. 2. If you like the way your image is, click on the eyeglasses of your background layer to shut it off. 3. Right click on the next layer, Merge/MergeVisible. Rename it stringegg.. 4. Now you should only have 2 layers. (Background, and stringegg). 5. Click on your eyeglasses to open your background up and make your background. 6. Right click on background when finished. Merge/MergeVisible. **If your not making a background and want to make your image into a picture tube. 1. Open up your Background layer by clicking on the eyeglasses. 2. Right click, Merge/MergeVisible. 3. Image/Resize if you want. 4. File/Export/PictureTube and type in a name for it. OK. And now it will load up into your tubes :) I hope you enjoyed my tutorial.
