This tutorial is my own creation. Any resemblance to another is purely coincidental.
Please read my tutorial TERMS. I made this tutorial using PSP X. This tutorial will work in other versions. You'll need to have a working knowledge of PSP to work this tutorial. I've added screen shots so that everybody will be able to try this tutorial. I hope you enjoy :) What you will need: Paint Shop Pro HERE Image/pattern/deco DOWNLOAD You'll also need a unzip program. You can get a trial versions of Winzip HERE Unzip your Image/pattern/deco files to where you keep your Image folder. When you open up your .psp deco and image in your workspace they may look very tiny. Make sure to use your magnifying glass to get them to 100%. **Make sure to save your work often! Keep your layers seperate so at the end we can add dropshadows for more depth. 1. Open up a 600 X 500, transparent image. 2. Open up your mlpattern. Minimize. Then Foregound Null, Background mlpattern. Angle 0, Scale 100. **You may want to write down these coordinates for the next step it's easier to remember them. (43,23) > (554,420). 3. Preset Shape-Rectangle. Vector and Anti-alias both Checked. Retain Style UNchecked. Line Style-Solid. Start at 43,23 (up towards the top left corner just move your mouse around and at the bottom right you'll see numbers moving if you don't go to View/Tools and click on your status). Hold down your left mouse button to 554,420. Objects/Align/Center Of Canvas. Go to your layer palette, Frame layer, Right click and Convert to Raster layer. Rename this layer, Matt. 4. New layer, name it left strip. Keep your foreground and background the same. Keep your Preset Shape the same except UNcheck the Vector. (You won't see your stip at first because it's the same color as your Matt, but we'll be adding a texture to it). Start at the top corner (43,23) of your Matt. Make your strip about 2 grey/white squares and draw down to the bottom of your matt. Effects/Textureffects/Blinds and apply: Width 3, Opacity 60 Color #e1cebf, Horizontal Checked. Light from left/top Checked. OK. Use your Mover tool to place if you need to. This is what your strip will look like when it's got it's blinds, also shows you the width of your strip. 5. New layer, name it right stip. Again keep your foreground and background the same. Preset shape is still the same also. Go to your just before you right top corner, move your mouse around at the very top of your matt until you find the numbers (526, 24). Draw your strip down to the bottom. Effects/Artistic effects/Halftone and apply the settings in the screenshot. 6. Open up your mlace.psp. Edit/Copy, Edit/Paste as a new layer. Rename this layer lace. Use your mover tool to place it. This is what your image should look like now. 7. Open up your deco-pearl.psp image. Edit/Copy, Edit/Paste as a new layer. Rename this layer decoleft. Use your mover tool to place it. Right click on your deco-pearl layer. Duplicate. Image/Mirror and use your mover tool to place it. Rename this layer decoright. 8. Open up your mlmother image. Edit/Copy, Edit/Paste as a new layer Rename this layer mother.. Use your mover tool to place it. This is what you should have at this point. 9. Text Tool. The font I used and the settings are in the screen shot. Color #a08364. This is the quote I used. Mothers hold their children's hands for a short while, but their hearts forever. This is what your image should look like now with your quote on it. Rename this layer quote. 10. Text Tool. The font I used and the settings are in the screen shot. Color #a08364. I typed in Mother Love. In the middle of your vector when you see the cross move your text ot place. This is what your finished image should look like before you add the dropshadows in the steps below. **Now we'll add some depth to this tag. 1. Activate your Right strip layer. Effects/3Deffects/Dropshadow and apply: Vertical 2, Horizontal -2, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00, Color Black. 2. Activate your lace layer. And apply the same setting as your right strip. (they should still be there). And that's it! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial :) Debbie April 18, 2007 Copyright© 2001-2007 Kreative-Expressionz |
