This tutorial is my own creation. Any resemblance to another is purely coincidental.
Please read my tutorial Terms. I used Paintshop Pro X but it will work in PSP 8 and up. You'll need a knowledge of Paintshop Pro to make this tutorial. This is a easy tutorial and a lot of fun putting your own take on experimenting and adding different textures to achieve the look you want :) What you'll need: Paintshop Pro Here Selection Download Gradient Download Images Download The Images I used for this tutorial are from Outlaw By Design This is a great site for Poser tubes and goodies :) No Outside filters are used in this tutorial Unzip your downloads into where you keep your files for your Paintshop Pro. Make sure your selection goes into your selection folder of your PSP. Everybody has a different way of doing this, depending on what versions they are using. If you need a zip/unzip program you can get winzip Here **Save your work often! 1. Open up a New Image, 700x500 Transparent Image. 2. Make your Foreground Color #cbd89a. Background Color #90a56d. Now on your Foreground Color click on the gradient and pick Foreground/Background in the gradients. Angle 45, Repeats 5, Style RADIAL, Invert UNchecked, Center Point Horizontal 48, Vertical 55. OK. Floodfill your new image. 3. Open up the outlawbydesignft905 (mushroom).psp image. Edit/Copy, Edit/Paste as a new layer. Image/Resize by 30 percent. Resize all layers UNchecked. Move it like I have in my finished header image. 4. Open up your outlawbydesignft863 (fairy).psp image. Edit/Copy, Edit/Paste as a new layer. Image/Resize by 40 percent. Resize all layers UNchecked. Move it like I have in my finished header image. 5. Open up outlawbydesignft125 (fern).psp image. Edit/Copy, Edit/Paste as a new layer. Image/Resize by 70 percent. Resize all layers UNchecked. Drag this layer to below the above tube layers you just did. Place it like I have mine in the header image. 6. Open up the outlawbydesignft899 (fern).psp image. Edit/Copy, Edit/Paste as a new layer. Image/Resize by 70 percent. Resize all layers UNchecked. Drag this layer to below your other tube layers you just did. 7. Open up outlawbydesignft906 (butterfly).psp image. Edit/Copy, Edit/Paste as a new layer. Image/Resize by 30 percent. Resize all layers UNchecked.Place it where I have mine in the finished header image. 8. Shut off your background (gradient) layer, and your butterfly layer. Click on any of the layers left. Merge/Merge Visible. Open up your background layer and butterfly layer. 9. Activate your background layer. Add a new layer. Selections/load save selection/load selection from disk and choose Fantasment. The only things that should be checked is: Source Luminance, and Replace Selectionz. OK. Foreground Floodfill Color #97ac73. Selections/Modify/Contract by 2. Foreground Floodfill with gradient download "Metal Steel" Angle 45, Repeats 5, Style RADIAL, Invert UNchecked, Center Point Horizontal 48, Vertical 55. OK. Floodfill. Selections/Select None. 10. Now comes our creativity. We will be working between the frame with our magic wand, and the background playing and applying different textures. It would take pages for me to write what I did, and everybody has their own likings so I'll just show you the first 2 I did. 11. I activated my frame layer. Used my magic wand and clicked in the middle of the top left corner square. Activate background layer and went to Effects/Texture effects/Texture, and Chose Dither 75pct, Size 75, Smoothness 0, Depth 2, Ambience 0, Shininess 0, Color White, Angle 315, Intensity 50, Elevation 30. OK. Selections/Select None. 12. Activate your frame layer now. Click the magic wand in the middle of the top right corner square. Now Activate your background layer and I applied the same texture effect I just did for the left top corner. Selections/Select None. And that's it! you just toggle between your frame which you use your magic wand on a square of choice, and your background always make sure you have it activated or your texture won't work. You can fill them all, or just a few, it's all in creativity and what you like. I had a lot of fun doing this part experimenting with all kinds of textures you can even colorize them. I hope you have as much fun as I did :) **I didn't use any outside filters for my textures they were all within the PSP program, the one I like the most was Effects/Texture effects/Soft Plastic that has a real nice effect. Have fun creating! 13. You can add any dropshadows if you want for some depth and the text, resize to your liking and your done! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial as much as I did making it.
